sept 28, 2015

JK about the subject, i just thought it was appropriate cause septembers almost done lol. BUT HEY GUYS!!! how yall doing. We had such a GREAT week here in Roca. For reals I believe one of the best in my mission. But before I get any further...happpppy birthday to my beautiful sissy Brittt! Oh how I love you sister and hope you had the most special day! #26años

SO about this week!! We have 3 new greenies in our district and it is so FUN! ones from mexico and 2 from utah. So crazy to think that just a lil year ago i was in the same boat as these kids and couldn't speak nada. We are super pumped as a district to work together! We also had a huge stake activity here in roca and watched meet the mormons in a big theater! it was such a success and tons of investigators came so thats epic.

But the best thing that happened is this. SO Iara was supposed to be baptized on saturday right...well that did not happen but its totally fine because her dad is out of town traveling but is coming in a few weeks, and she wants her dad to be there for her baptism! So this will be good so she can be even more prepared than she already is! But heres the thing. Her mom is Silvana and she is so great. We had a lesson with her this week and the spirit was so there. We talked about temples and the young womens pres of the ward was there too and shared such a beautiful testimony with Iara and silvana. So we invited silvana to church on sunday. She was super hesitant to say yes cause she works allll night long saturday night and doesn't get home till 7 AM on sunday mornin..and church is at 9:30. But we made a promise with her that through this sacrifice she would literally be able to see a difference in her week and that she would be so blessed. She accepted!! SO sunday morning we decided to whip up some banana bread and went to their house at 8 am to have breakfast with silvana so that she wouldn't go to sleep! We ate and then us 4 were off to church. It was such a perfect sunday and she loved it. We have a lesson with them tonight again and we are so pumped. Silvana has a few problems like smoking and works at a club, but is such a great mom and person. I love her! So excited to see her progress.

Guys I just love being a missionary. I cant even describe it. I have the most amazing spiritual experiences every day that just lift me up and make me so happy. Yesterday we were walking home from church to eat lunch and we walked passed this homeless man. I got this prompting to turn back and talk to him...but I totally started thinking otherwise, thinking that he was only gunna ask for money like others do. But I followed the spirit and we turned around. His name is Jorge! We gave him a pass along card with a pic of Christ. We started talking to him and he had tears in his eyes. We got his address and invited him to church and then I asked if there was anything we could do for him..and he grabbed my hand and buried his face in it and started balling. It was such a beautiful moment. He didn't say much, but we all felt so peaceful and the love of our Heavenly Father. Im so grateful I was strong enough to follow that prompting to turn around. I love this work and love meeting Gods children each day. WHat a blessing it is so be in the service of our Lord and King.

Have a great week and I hope you all enjoy general conference! Hey and shout out to elder haynie thats so sweet he gets to speak.

Love hermana farrow

Ps: be a seeker of happiness Alma 27:18

pps: I went to the doctor for myself for the first time in my whole mission on wednesday this week...turns out my intestines are enflamed haha. So i was on a pretty gnarly diet this week of eating only rice, jello, mashed up squash, gatorade and water. I felt like i was eating baby food the whole time. And im taking some meds. but the pain has gone away a lot and i feel much better! I go again to the doc tomorrow but im am doing a lot better so no need to worry!! #intestinosenflamados

and brittany, gabi and camila wish you a very happy birthday!!!

HI fam!!

Happy first day of school to my hermanos bails chels and blakey!  so exciting you guys are little students! how fun. Well what a great week I had here. Good things are happening! Ya know our investigator Iara, the cute 12 year old girl, well she went to church again yesterday and is progressing very nicely for her baptism on the 26. we are so excited and I love her so much. Walking home from church yesterday, she told me and my comp she wants to serve a mission one day. music to my ears. she's so great. So the only thing that could possibly impede her baptism is her mama. her mom is so great, but she knows that baptism is a responsibility. We invited her and the mom to a ward FHE last night...and i was kinda hesitant for the mom to come cause usually FHEs are not the greatest, or not planned very well, or like no one comes haha. But I just prayed and prayed that she would enjoy it and at least be able to feel the spirit and feel something different about being inside the church. These prayers were sure answered! The turnout was so great and the sister who taught the lesson taught about families and literally the night was so perfect!! I was in awe and miracles are real. She told us she loved it and is excited to come to the ward talent show that we are planning on saturday! wooohoooo!

On saturday night we got invited to have dinner with our new investigators, Belen and Marcos and their 2 daughters! Which is like so cool cause we rarely get invited for dinners! Belen made canalones! (basically my fave food here). So it was all going well. And then some comments were made between them and then they just totally started fighting! :( like legit yelling at each other and they both were crying. Me and my comp were just sitting there with their 9 and 6 year old daughters. It was so sad. I honestly did not know what else to say except that Jesus can help their relationship! because I don't know! my parents have never had huge fights.... haha but my comp said some nice inspired stuff. It broke my heart to see all this happening in front of their lil daughters. But the good thing is Marcos and Belen really like us and want us to come back. SO cool the trust that they already have in us. We will see how this week goes with them! Also, remember how I said that I wanted to be a "counselor" after the mish....from this experience I don't know if that is still something that I want to do haha. But who knows!

OKay so we are already in our last week of this transfer. Cannot believe have fast these weeks have flown by here in Roca. We had interviews with president last week! It was just a nice short interview but went really well. So different with a latino pres, cause it was all in spanish! But hey guys i am doing good and pressin on. The days are long but weeks, transfers, months, and now YEARS are short. I love it here despite all the crazy things that we see and experience! Keep Iara and her mom Silvana in your prayers! I love you all y espero que tengan una semana llena de sonrisas y arcoiris haha. Les amo mas que saben.

Sept. 7, 2015

Hola como estan queridos! This week was real good! Tuesday was "el dia de Roca" (it was our citys birthday) so there was a huge parade throughout the city and then at night a big concert. Iv e never seen more people in the street here probs because they are all usually sleeping the siesta haha. We live like right in centro so we heard the concert all night long and obvio we couldn't sleep...especially when the fireworks started going off at midnight!! So obvi we had to run up to our roof to take pics. So fun #happybdayroca

On Wednesday we left super early and bussed it to Neuquen. Elder Texeira from the 70 came! Like 75% of the whole mission was there so it was so packed. Before the actual conference, we had a meeting with just the zone leaders and sis training leaders and him and his wife. It was So SWEEET and we all sat at a table talking and I sat right across from him and he was literally staring into my eyes and preaching into my soul. haha but it was so special just to be in a lil room with about 20 missionaries, our president, and him! The spirit was so strong and he totes dropped the cane on obedience. He actually slammed his hand on th table. it was kinda scary haha. He is such a cool guy and I received a lot of personal revelation during this conference. So fun seeing other companions and missionaries too!

Oh yeah my comp had lice this week and so my head was so itchy this whole week but turns out it was just my mind playing tricks on me cause I didn't have it. But we will seeeee because our investigator Iara has lice too! uh ohh. but she doesn't know she has it, my comp saw it roamin around in her hair yesterday. oh boy. speaking of Iara, she came to church again yesterday and is totes progressing and so great. We taught her plan of salvation and she loved it. She bought us mini bible keychains and wrote us the sweetest little note saying "thank you for teaching me about Jesus" and other cute stuff. We are teaching her the gospel of Christ tonight!!

Tonight after the lesson we will be taking a bus to Villa Regina and go on exchanges with sisters over there. Exchanges are great...I think I learn more from the other sisters than they might from me. Being an hna leader is fun, a lot of work, and drama, but fun!

I sure love you all! Cant believe summer is finally coming to an end for you all and you'll be headed up to school this week! Gooood luck with everything. that'

I found this quote this week and thought id share it, might help someone who reads this letter "We often talk in church about coming unto Christ. Perhaps we should talk more about how Christ also comes to us. We sing "Who's on the Lords side? Who?" Let us also sing "Be still my soul, the Lord is on thy side". We never have more value in the Lords sight than when we are feeling completely worthless."

I know this is the truth! We are so loved. The Savior of the world is on our team, how can we fail?! Have a great week guys i sure love and miss you!
