Feliz Navidad

Dec. 22, 2014

me and my nicauaguense sister! we found our street!!!!

and some of the elders  thought this pic was cool lol
Hola,
Feliz Navidad mi familia y amigos! Les quiero muchisimo y espero que ustedes tienen una semana muy muy feliz! So another grannnnd week has passed! I cant believe its already christmas holy cowwww!

SO this week started out monday playin some futbol con mi distrito y mi hermana got kicked in the face super bad and hurt her jaw.  It had been bothering her so we went to Neuquen a few days ago to the clinica and that was quite the adventure! Haha lets just say I'm glad to be an American.  And glad to be healthy cause man this hospital was so ghetto. But turns out her jaw was only swollen and no fracture!!

So we had another intercambios this week! Hna Brotherson from Virginia came to be with me in Centenario and Hna Lopez went to Cinco Saltos. So since this was in my area I had to plan everything on my own and set up all the lessons and make all the phone calls and what not! So I for reals was relying on the spirit never like never before this day. And it is soo amazing to me the way the spirit works. as I am just able to think of a street or of someone we need to visit and turns out we end up finding their neighbors who is a less active girl whos my age and oh man we are gunna get her on a mish! or being guided directly to someone who needs help. I had the most awesome experience this day with our investigator Iniel this day too! I asked him to be baptized on the 10 of jan and he wasn't too sure about this and then all the sudden words just started flowin out as I promised him that he would be ready to be baptized on this date and was prompted to share with him about eternal families and that I also had a sis that passed away..cause his wife and son were killed..and that through making these sacred covenants without heavenly father, we will be able to see and live with our fams again. Since he is a man we taught him outside in his patio...so at times it was kinda hard to hear with al the motorcycles and cars, but in this moment as I was testifying it was just silent and the wind stopped blowing and literally I could feel the spirit enter. The spirit was undeniable and when I shared this experience with him is when he changed. He has not for sure committed to this date but I have faith and I know he's gunna get there!

I wish I could just tell you all everything because honestly there is so much to say and so much that happens here and so much I am learning. I think the thing I have learned the most in these past 4 months of being a missionary is learning how to recognize the spirit. I feel so blessed to have this wonderful gift in my life of the Holy Ghost. If you let it, the spirit truly will lead and guide you in all things. I am always amazed at how true it is that the spirit will give you the words to say in the exact moments that you need them. It is very different being away from my fam during esta epoca de la navidad. And a lil difficult too. But when I really think about it, this is the greatest gift that I am blessed to have, and give. I have come to love the power that I feel each time that I testify of our Savior Jesus Christ. The atmosphere changes when we begin teaching and testifying of Him.

Like it says in 2 Nefi 25 13, my soul delighteth to prophesy concerning Him. This is why I am out here serving a mission because there is no doubt in my mind that Jesus Christ lives. What a blessing it is remember this time of his birth. I love this gospel and this perfect message that I have the opportunity of sharing every day. This is the greatest gift I could possibly have is to be a literal representative of Christ and wear his name above my heart.

I love you all so much! Thanks you for your examples and for being my rock. Cannot wait to Skype you all! Remember who you are and remember the nails!

Love,
Hermana Farrow

Almost Christmas!

Dec. 15, 2014
Last night went to hermana margaritas house cause we knew she would make us some of her famous hot choc and homemade bread to warm us up!

It was freezing rain this week.
Me and a cute girl Mica in the ward!  She drew me a lil note after we had lunch with their family.

Okay so Christmas is next weeeek? hahah what I cannot believe it. Doesn't feel like Christmas too much here in Centenario but I love every time we sing a Christmas hymn and I get so happy every time I see someone with a lil 2 foot Christmas tree in the window!

Im gunna keep this short and I don't have too much time to write! But this week was another good one. I am starting to get more comfortable with my Castellaño so thats always goood!! and finally starting to understand the people better with that cray accent.

I gave a talk in sacrament yesterday! on the importance of members in missionary work. I was nervous cause I wanted it to be goood and wanted my spanish to be goood. my prayers were def answered and not gunna lie it was one of the best talks Ive ever given! I pretty much just put my notes down and looked out into the congregation and the words just flowed. And a nice lil detail is that the power was out yesterday so the microphone wasn't on so I had to be extra loud.

I had octopus tentacles this week for lunch so thats fun and they were actually kinda good!

This week I went to Neuquen to take care of stuff for my visa! and found out one of my comps from the mtc, hna myers went home last week from severe headaches or something so thats super sad. we have christmas with the pres and his wife thursday and have interviews so that'll be good!

All is well family! I love you all and miss you like no other. So excited to sype wooohooooo!!! The church is true. keep smilin

love, hna farrow

Hola!

Dec. 8, 2014

Hellllo! Thanks for all the emails this week guys! I am smiling so big right now and even tearin up a lil reading all these! Another week has flown by oh my! I have a brand new district and we are all ready for this new transfer! Out goal is to have a baptism this transfer and I know me and my comp can do it! I don't even know where to begin the days all mush together into one!

First of all...we went to our district meeting this week and guess who I see! Hermana Katie Packard! wooohooo so I'm no longer the baby of the district. So yep shes brand new right off the plane and it was so fun getting to talk to her and catching up on life! Shes so sweet and we took a pic on her camera so hopefully she sends that to her parents so yall can see it!

All is well over here! Our investigators are progressing slowly but surely. Saturday morning I had a cool lil personal experience. We woke up 15 mins early to go on a run and then after I hopped in the shower...and I heard Hna Lopz on the phone and she told me that we need to go see a less active member cause she was having pain in her eye and wanted us to come. Not gunna lie I was a lil annoyed cause I just wanted to shower and get ready and have my personal study time and her house is the farthest street in our area and thought, what are we even gunna do for her, cant the elders just go..they re the ones with the preisthood. So I hopped outa the shower and got dressed and we were on our way. While we were walking I had a lil personal evañuation and thought wow how selfish I was being. And had the simple thought come to my mind, what would Jesus do? He wouldnt be frustrated that he had to walk 30 mins to help his friend, or wouldn't care that he didnt get to studu or that his hair was soaking wet. I felt awful and realized that this is what my whole mission is about, putting my self aside and doing as Christ would and helping others. We arrived at Ericas house and the elders gave an awesome blessing. The spirit was so strong and I felt to special that this lady thought enough of us missionaries to call us at 7 in the morning and have us help her.

I am learning so much every day and know that I am happiest when I am serving others. Little experiences everyday help me to realize my purpose as a missionary. There really are no words to describe the experiences that I have here serving the people of Centenario. I love this Christmas time and being able to share my testimony of Jesus Christ. My faith is increasing and know that it is only through faith that things come to pass. I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know He lives and His hand is in out lives everyday if we have the eyes to see it.

Okay here's just some random stuff maybe yall would like to know about mi vidaaaa!
This week we saw this old lady struggling to walk into her house so we help her into her house and into her wheelchair. We asked what we can do so she gave us a huge list of stuff haha so we were mopping the floor and all that and she says to me...hey come here! so I went over to her and she said look! and stuck her tongue out at me and not gunna lie it was proably the grossest thing I have eber seen and had like green lumps haha oh my gosh. She wanted to show me that this happened from taking her pills. So that was fun haha.

Tang is actually really good and the members never fail to give us this for everrrry meal or visit. (They drink tang to make the water taste better)

We find cockroaches in our apartment and clothes so thats fun!!

I'm basically a plumber now and have mastered teh technique of sticking my hand in the tank of teh toilet and manually flushing!

Centenario has the most beautiful sunsets every day and I always think the 2nd coming is coming.

I embarrass myself at least once a day with my spanish or spilling my water or something.

Everything is better with dulce de leche!

I sleep soo good every night and we come home so exhausted, but somehow we have just enought energy to wake up and do the same thing every day!

Men are scary and whistle at us

The mission is all about awkward moments...so I fit right in!

My watch/farmers/grandma shoe tanlines are awesome.

I smile at every person I see!

Okay thats all I can think of for now! I love you all and you are all in my prayers! Especially you Grandma Moon! Love you so much!

xoxo, Hermana Farrow

ps blake or someone can you send me the remember the nails poem plzzz!

Dec. 1, 2014

Hola Hola!! Hope yall had a fabulous thanksgiving! Looks like you did! And hey grandma Moon I love you and you are in my prayers! You are the strongest lady I know and I tell everyone about my grandma from Mexico!

We saw miracles this week! We have a new investogator, Iniel. He is in his 70s and his wife passed away a few years ago. So we taught him Saturday and invited him to church and the lesson went really well. I wanted to see him at church so bad...cause thats been our biggest struggle is getting these investigators to church. The chapel is far and people just have a hard time giving up their sunday activities (drinking mate and watching tv haha). ANyways..<sunday mornin came around and guess who I see! Not only Iniel, but also a less active family and the husband who is not a member that we have been workin soo hard with! Ahhh I was so happy! Haha finally we are starting to see the fruits of our labors and wow is it a great feeling!

So yep I completed and survived my very first transfer wooohoo! I am still in Centenario and Hna Lopez is still my trainer! SO this is her last transfer! And we are gunna make it the best. We are pumped to work hard!

Que maaaas. Saturday night we had a lil ward party for Yenni Arce, the gal in the pic who is leaving for her mission! I honestly love this girl so much! She has come to lessons with us many times and has such a love for the gospel. She's off to Vera Crus, so I told her to find my grandmas family! Haha. On Sunday we were able to be there for her setting apart! So powerful and it remined me of the night with my whole fam en la casa de Pres Wilkinson.

Spanish is coming...a lil more each week. The accent and how crazy fast some people speak is what throws me off. Half the time I just smile and say si and nod haha. But in the lessons I can totes speak and thats what matters right?

There is a new plan for missioanries all around the world called El es la dadiva, or he is the gift. Its going all this whole christmas season! we give away 10 of these lil cards everyday in efforts to find new people to teach. There is also an awesome video that yall need to watch if you havent already! Honestly so good and invites the spirit so strong in the lessons! excited for this Christmas season and to testify of the true meaning of teh season! Kinda sad that Christmas this year is so hot and the Argentines arent suuuper into it haha but its alll good.

I am doing well familia and have a smile on my face! The work is coming along! I am beginning to love this lil town of Centenario and the people. I love you family! Oh so much. Miss you on the daily. Keep smiling and remember the nails!

Con amor, Hermana Brookie Farrow

Last Week of my First Transfer

November 24, 2014

Doing laundry on our p-day!

Ouch....blisters!

Just me being silly!!!!!

All the Sisters decided to wear coral for the zone meeting!

Fun to see my roomies from the MTc!

This blond missionary is the Elder we saw at the St. George Temple during Girls Camp Week!
 Happy pday familia!

Hope you all had a fantastic week! I sure did.  Sooo can you believe this week is the last week of my first transfer! que loco no? Hna Lopez and I are determined to work hard and make it a good one.

Friday we had my first zone conference so that's fun! I absolutely love Pres and Hna Lovell. I gave Pres a big missionary handshake and I think he was impressed with my Español! And hna Lovell is the cutest always takin pics and she gave a talk in Spanish from reading a paper in her gringa accent.  I also saw some of my MTC pals! So much fun and maaaaade my week! Hna Parlogean is probably my favorite human being and it was so fun to catch up and hear how she's doing. She has a gringa comp and says her spanish is nooo bueno...so I am grateful that I am forced to speak Spanish 24/7. The conference was based on Pres Packer's talk The Reason for our Hope. Super great talk! It was a good little pump up to feel the spirit and be with 3 zones of missionaries!

I am in a 12 week training program so we have 2 hours of comp study every day...and then an extra hour for language study. We have lang study usually after lunch because we can't contact due to the siesta and every store and everything is closed! Just a lil fyi

Me and my companion have so much fun together! We laugh so much and make this work fun! Her top three English words that she uses on a daily basis are sketch, what the heck, and oh my gosh. SO I'm a good teacher.

Last night we went to visit a member from our ward, Hna Vidal. She gave us tea and bread...like everyone does here, and the wind started to get crazzzzy! Like I thought her lil house was gunna blow down haha. So we were starting to share a lil message with her and the power went out. So she went and got a candle and she wanted to sing a Christmas song for our opening hymn and so we did...and we ended up singing Christmas songs for a god 45 mins cause she was just so happy and wanted to keep singing! So much fun sitting around a candle lit table with just the three of us singing! Little times like these make for the best days!

Nothing too much happened this week but all is well in Centenario! Can't believe how fast this time is flying by and this week is Thanksgiving for yall! Have so much fun in AZ!

I am learning so much each day and learning to rely on my Savior! Through Him, I have felt so much comfort and been strengthened through the hardest days. I love Him and am eternally grateful for his Atoning sacrifice. This is why I am out here, sharing this sweet message that through Christ we can become better each day and find peace even in the worst of times. Something from Zone Conf that has stuck with me is when Pres Lovell said, We can't TOUCH the marks in the Savior's hands and feet, but we can FEEL His Spirit. His spirit is something that I have learned to trust and rely on, and this great work is nothing without the spirit! SO grateful for this opportunity to serve and be a representative of Christ. I have never felt so close to Him and my Father in Heaven. I love you family! Happy thanksgiving!!

All Smiles in Centenario

Nov. 18, 2014

Hermana Farrow was a day late due to her companion being sick all day yesterday.  They had to stay home and get her better;)  All is well now!!!!!!!  I hope they don't break the beds!!!!

holaaaa familia!

Wow, did this week sure fly by!  This work is coming along and the days are getting brighter!  Literally...summer is coming and it is starting to get super hot!   I can´t believe next week is Thanksgiving for you guys!  To be honest I totally forgot about that holiday cause there is no talk about it here!  haha,  but in the supermarket they are staring  to have decorations for the navidad so that's exciting! woohoo so glad to hear my family is doing well!  I love and miss you all so very much! Okaaaay where to begin..

This week was a good one! I am staring to get used to this wonderful little town of Centenario!  I went on exchanges again this week with another hermana who is also a gringa and we were in my area this time!  and I was kinda scared cause I didn't think I knew my area very well..but we only got lost once!  We had so much fun and talked to EVERYONE we saw!  She is such a good example of a missionary I want to be and she showed me the importance of talking to every person.

Now that español is coming along..I am having a new love of tracting! Haha for reals it is so fun!  My favorite thing is when we tell them..somos misioneras de la iglesia de JesuCristo de Los Santos de los ultimos dias..and then they go ohh yeah no thanks I'm catholic...and everrryyyone is catholic here. and we say oh perfect!!  So you believe in God! How do you feel God has helped you in your life? and sometimes they can´'t exactly answer this question.  But everyone pretty much believes  in God and has great faith which is grrreat! so woohoo!

We found some new investigators this week and one of them came to church on sunday and I was so excited! She's 17 and so cute and wants to be baptized wooo! My comp has only had 1 baptism and I told her that we are going to get another baptism for her so she goes home with at least 2! Oh man I am so pumped and just want to preach the good word!

Our ward is having a temple trip to Buenos Aires in March so thats like a super big deal for everyone!  So we are working with less actives tons and trying to get them to church so they can work toward getting to the temple!  I am so happy for them because the temple is honestly my favorite place on earth and I just want them to feel that!  Also I really am trying to learn how to use family search so we can show the members how to do their family  history to take to the temple! fun stuff!

All is well here in Argentina! I am doing great and learning something new every day. I love Hermana Lopez. We are getting closer every day and I can pretty much completely understand her woohooo! She is very patient with my spanish and I am helping her with her english! We play little word games as we are walking to lessons and laugh all the time.  She wants to learn the song the climb by Miley cyrus so I wrote it down for her...half of it was probably wrong cause I couldn't remember the words..and she wrote down her fave spanish song for me to learn!

Thank you family and friends for your love and prayers! I feel so blessed to be a missionary at this time in history! Theres an army of 88,000 of us and it is only growing! I am becoming closer to my Savior and I know that he is watching over and protecting his missionaries on the daily. So no need to worry about me..I am in the best hands! Keep smiling guys...we have all the reason in the work to be happy! Love you ALL! until next week!

Con mucho mucho amore,

Hermana Farrow

Hello there!!!

Where we shop!

Model of the Buenos Aires Temple

Our open chapel with my district and members of one of the wards in my area! super coolio

The best food you will ever eat! This was our Sunday lunch yesterday after church con la familia Flores! ps my hair really is not orange

Sweet little selfie!

November 10, 2014

hiyaaa!

This week was a good one indeed! How are things back in the united states?  Sometimes I stop walking and look around and I just can't believe I'm in Argentina. its the craziest thing to think I'm at the bottom of the world!   ha ha I  love it and can't believe I'm actually serving a mission!

So for anyone wondering if I am being fed well here..you don't even have to worry, I am probably  being fed a little too well! This Sunday we had a huge asada feast with the Flores family and i have never seen so much meat on my plate. chicken, sausage, steak, ribs ahhh. the members make sure to feed us real good and the hard part is their huge meal of the day is lunch..so we always eat a bunch and then have to walk 30 mins to our next appointment and that is not fun haha. Everyone gets their siesta after they eat, but as missionaries gotta keep on working!

Saturday we had an open chapel in cinco saltos...so the chapel was open to the public! We had a christus set up in the chapel and boards explain the principles of the gospel and then we had the baptismal font filled and elders dressed in the white clothing explaining baptism! It was super sweet and we had a pretty good outcome! I felt like a temple square missionary explaining to these people what was written on the boards and the pictures! fun stuff.

Well nothing too exciting happened this week! Each day I am always reminded of how blessed I am. This week a member asked me about my family ... I told them about my siblings and all that.  They asked if they were all active and served missions and for some reason I told them about my cousins serving missions too and they were just in awe that my whole family is active in the church.  I was really taken back by this and that I am really  so blessed!  Not a day goes by that I don't thank my father in heaven for my amazing family and the love and support I have!

Each day my testimony grows more and more of the atonement of Jesus Christ!  I  have come to realize that without it, there would be no point to this life.  Everything in this gospel and everything  I teach each day comes back to the atonement.  So amazing to me to think that we have a Savior who was willing to take upon every sadness, sin, doubt, pain, regret upon himself.  As I was bearing my testimony to a less active this week about the atonement in my life,  I  was overwhelmed with emotion and love from my father in heaven.  There is no feeling..and I cant even explain it,  of looking a person in the eyes and pouring your heart out to them of the truthfulness of this gospel! I feel my Saviors love everyday. There is a scripture I love in 3 Nephi 22 :10 that talks about what ever  is going on in the world and in your life, the Saviors love will never depart from us. That promise is something I have come to see in my life on a daily basis. When I get down, Heavenly  Father always puts the sweetest tender mercy in my path, even if it is finding a person that speaks English that wants to talk to me for a second! I love this gospel and the happiness it brings. That is why Iam in Argentina serving a mission because I want others to have that knowledge! This work is hard but I know it is going to be worth all the blisters and walking and embarrassment from Spanish!

Love you all! have a happy week!
Love , hermana farrow

Week 2 in Centenario!

The center of Centenario!

i saw this sign from far away and thought it said nicholas gruen and got xcited for a sec hahaha

 Nov. 4, 2014

Hi hi Hermana Farrow here! Como anda?! That means whats up.  Week two was just fantastic woohooo! okay don´t even know where to begin!

So a few high lights from this weeeek. Only got almost attacked by only one dog this week! He came outa know where and grabbed onto my boot and I screamed and kicked him off haha.....and by boot I mean yes this week it was absolutely freezing here!  In the 40's.   I was dying and the wind was sooo loco!  So earlier this week were were walkin to a lesson and the wind started getting super strong.  We started talkin to this guy on the street and so obvi I had to open my eyes and before I knew it there was somethin in my eye. and like yeah that happens all the time and you can just blink it out, but noo there was actually something in there.   My hermana was tryin to see what it was but she couldn't and oh man i was just tearin up outa my right eye. but there was nothin I could do cause we had a lesson with Marcelo soo I I taught a whole lesson with somethin in my eye hahaha i was like crying out of it the whole time and squinting and every time I blinked it killed hahah oh man so we made it a quick lesson and eventually I washed it out with water so it was all good! B ut oh man it was so funny.
oh another highlight was people here are very complimentary! Is that a word? People all the time say you're not from here are you haha just by looking at me. So a lady in a wheelchair this week told me she wanted to cut my green eyes out for herself.  And then another lady told me I look like cinderella hahah. Then at church this sunday I was trying to talk to this new investigator and trying to explain something to him so he  could understand...so i said sorry for my español...and he was like no no you speak beautiful spanish and have a beautiful accent HAHAHA pretty sure he was a little disabled...but hey I'll take it! oh man what else. our lady with a baptismal date dropped us this week and that was super sad. but we have Marcel planned for Nov 29! woohooo!

OH and I forgot to say that every time you see someone here you know you'll  kiss them on the cheek and it is so fun haha i love it! the people are very friendly for the most part and the members take good care of the missionaries. There are 2 sets of elders and us in our little ward. Oh and I found out this week that hna lopezs fave movie is chicas rubias...aka white chicks and I just about died cause thats my fave movie! ahh I love her!  Sometimes it is just so hard cause we cant understand each other, even with the help of my translator, but we get along great and laugh about everything. We went on intercambios..exchanges i think it is in english..and i was with hna hafen and she is a gringa and so sweet! so that was fun and nice lil break from spanish.

Things are coming along and i am getting the hang of things here in Centenario!   Spanish is coming along and I am getting better at understanding the people. I just wish i could express myself cause I have so much to say but ahhh I know it will come!  This week i was trying to say the word investigator in english and I  couldn't think of how to say it cause i just kept saying it in spanish hahah so thats progress!  But things are all good here!  It is hard hard work. and i miss my fam so dang much..but the Lord hears and answers my prayers and knows just what i need when he knows I've had enough.  We are not alone!  Heavenly  father is there and is waiting/pleading for us to come unto him!  I can promise you that!  I am grateful for this opportunity  I have to serve.  I already feel like a changed person just in these 2 months. All is well family! hey hey I get to skype y'all next month omg!! woohooo!! gracias por todo!

I'm in my first area!

Oct 27, 2014

Taking it all in as she lands in Neuquen!

til we meet again

Hermana Lopez showing the greenie the new area of Centanario.

hola familia!!!

ahhh hello there! wow so I'm def not in Kansas anymore haha and by that i mean not in my little Provo MTC bubble. But WOW i am finally here and legit  real missionary! This is so cool.  I don´t even know where to begin but here wo go!

SO my new companion is Hermana  Lopez! She´s from Nicaragua and speaks zero English .  It´s awesome.  She only has 3 months left in the mish! So I'm her last comp cause we are together for 2 transfers....12 weeks.  Shes a stud and is patient with my lack of español haha.

My area is called Centenario! In the zone Cinco Saltos! P ure greatness. About 30 minutes from Neuquen. The members here are great and so sweet to the missionaries! We have a lunch appointment every day with a member and the food is so good omg haha it´s a problem.  And they feed us dulce de leche ice cream after I am completely stuffed and obviously  I cant say no haha.  Since the water is nastyy here everyone drinks soda or juice! Which i am not used to but its goood!

So we have a baptismal date for Nohelia! on nov 29. Pray for Her!  We meet with her tonight and teaching importance of sabbath day!!

Yesterday was my first day of church with the ward! The bishop invited me up to the pulpit and I bore my testimony in front of everyone. my hna Lopez said i did good so that´s all that  matters, right?

So the lessons we teach are great! Only problem is...I  just wish I could say everything I want to say! ahhhh. but ya know what...every time my comp looks at me so I know it´s my turn to testify, I feel the spirit so strong and it reconfirms to me every time that this is what I'm supposed to be doing! The Lord knows me and wow do I  have all my trust in Him! Like Nephi says, my god hath been my support.  I am relying so much on heavenly father. when i get frustrated and down he knows just what I need and puts a tender mercy in my life...maybe not til the end of the day, or even the next day, but my prayers are constantly answered!

But all is well family! No need to worry about me, I am in the lords hand and he is watching over me. Wanna know how i know that? don't freak out mama but I almost got attacked my a pit bull hahaha.  We were walking to a investigators house and I was walking pretty close to this gate and a dog came running up by me.  I  didn't think anything of it cause there are dogs everywhere here, and it jumped with its head through the bars and went right for me.  He totally grabbed onto me like my waist and side and I have no idea how my arm didn't get bit off, but it didn´t. but i was fine and it only hurt for a little while.  haha that was my first day in Centenario and holy crap it scared me. but no need to worry!

oh and one more funny story....so last night after we taught a lesson, hna Lopez was trying to explain to me that the lady, Beatrice, that we taught had a problem with and was annoyed with a member in the ward.  The word for annoy is molestar...so i was like omg! I  though she meant that someone like raped her hahaha and me and my comp started cracking up. ahh the joys of living in South America! also, i walk around with my electronic translator on the streets and I probably look so white. but I am learning new words each day!

I love you so much my family. I get homesick at times, but it makes me realize how blessed I am to have a family like i do, and live in a place with doorbells and working toilets. I am so blessed and so humbled already by this experience! gracias por totos mi familia. thank you for your prayers and love and support. so glad i got to talk to you in the airport! love you all!

con amor,
hermana farrow

Don't Cry for me ARgentiNA!!!!!!!

October 22, 2014

We got a surprise email from Hermana Farrow just letting us know that she officially got to the mission home safely!

Here the brief email.....that of course brought tears to her parents eyes.

yo don't cry for me cause I am officially in Neuquén!!! Ahhh this is so crazy I love it so much. So we had our last flight of the day yesterday to Neuquén and I was out haha we were all so exhausted. But woke up right before we were about to land and dad I did just what you said and took it all in! So we walk off of the plane on one of those stair thingies and I got a sweet pic I'll try and send to ya Monday! That's my Pday btw. So we got to baggage claim and we see President and Hermana Lovell! They were behind this like clear wall thingy separating us so we were all just waving to them while we were waitin for our luggage! So we had to go through this lil xray thing and then I went up to them and gave her a huge hug and shook his hand and said how happy I am to officially meet my mission prez! And oh man they are so great!! SO we went to the mission home and they fed us dinner and a member from the ward brought empanadas over and ohhh my goodness they were so good. I had 5 hahaha and then the best ice cream after. I'm obsessed with dulce de leche already haha. So we had a lil meeting last night with everyone and then 3 hermanas and I went to a senior missionary couple's home to sleep there cause in the morning they were taking us to the immigration office to take care of fnigerprints and stuff. So we got there to the house and they were the sweetest little Argentine couple from Buenos Aires! I'm obsessed with Argenines too. The house was so cute and tiny. So they went to bed and we had to shower cause we were disgusting after 36 hours of traveling. It was SO hot in their house haha we were dying and we went down stairs and saw that the heater was on hahaha and we were all like holy crap but we couldn't turn it off cause obvi the couple wanted it on so we all just lived with it and took us forever to fall asleep and there were flies in all over but we finally did! So then this morning they took us to the office to get our paperwork for visas and all that done. Neuquén is so cool oh my gosh I love it. It's like super ghetto but  there's nice parts too. And we even gave a pass along card to this guy there and were trying to talk! Oh and I can't wait to come home with an Argentine accent cause it's definitely the best kind of Spanish. They speak so fast here haha but suprisingly I can kinda hold a conversation-ish...if they talk really slow. But ahhh I love it and definitely a culture shock but it's so great! No place I'd rather be. The Lovells are so sweet and this mission home is so beautiful! There's a courtyard in the middle of it. Sis Lovell is always taking pictures of us and is like our mama! Make sure to check the blog! And President is awesome. I had my first interview with him and he is just so full of wisdom and amazing. I just know I'm going to love it here! We get our trainers tomorrow night! Then take a bus if our area is far away or a taxi if close by! I'm so excited! This is so fun and can't wait to give you more details on Monday! Love you all!!

She arrived!!!

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

*part of this is from Sister Lovell....and from the momma.

Our 9 New Missionaries from the USA have arrived!

We were full of excitement as we drove to the airport for the 3rd time today!  We had made two trips earlier this morning for missionaries that were returning to their homes.  The anticipation was great as we looked forward to meeting these new missionaries.  We knew that it will be only a matter of time before we are just as attached to them as we are the ones that returned to their homes this morning!

We love to catch the first glimpse of them through the frosted glass!

There is Brookie!  Oh no, where is her 30 lb overweighted other suitcase.  Not fun having to pay $200 for the overage!  But what a cute smile she has!

They are tired but they are excited to be here!

Learning about the mission

Lovely Mission President and his wife

They all had empanadas !

It was amazing getting to talk to Brookie on her little trac phone we purchased for her at Walmart.  She was up beat and felt like it was amazing to be outside of the MTC and get to talk to other people.  She felt like everyone was staring at their name tags.  Proud to be wearing it, for sure.

It has been a long 2 days of travel....but the smile on her face and her eagerness to begin her mission is enough to get us through not having her with us.

We mailed off her sleeping bag.  It was an item on her list of things to bring to the mission.  We were told we could try and mail it or she could buy it in Argentina.  I decided to mail it....and I found out that it made it to the mission home.  The crazy part is that they are shocked and amazed it made it.   They have recently been advising parents to stop mailing because the packages are just not making it to their final destination.  We have to pay $70 in custom fees....but its OK with me.  At least I know she has a sleeping bag.
